Watercolour series: red abjections
Variable sizes (2024-2025)
Red operates simultaneously as wound, substance, and atmosphere: blood, tissue, organs, and fragments emerging through processes of abjection. Oscillating between abstraction and figuration, the works evoke bodies that resist stable definition, appearing porous, fragmented, and in constant transformation. Rather than depicting distortion directly, the series approaches the body as a site marked by psychic and material pressure — a condition shaped by exhaustion, permeability, and the erosion of boundaries between self and world. The images suggest forms that are unable to fully contain themselves, exposing what systems of carelessness, isolation, and extraction leave behind.
